I have been an active participant in local government on Longboat Key for two decades. I have recently retired and I feel I now have the time to become an even more active member of the community.

In the past I have had differing views with both the town manager and the commissioners concerning how the town government is run. I feel I can make a positive contribution to the process.

I am vitally concerned with quality of life issues on Longboat Key. I feel the the town government often fails to seek the best possible solutions to these matters. If elected I will be a champion of quality of life solutions. I will work to maintain and improve life on the island.

In the past I have strived to be a constructive part of the community dialogue and to make an attempt to contribute to the en betterment of the island.

I am running because I feel I will be a good influence on the way the town is managed.

I believe that many of the current pressing issues confronting Longboat Key might have been avoided if the town commission exercised more control over the town bureaucracy. I feel that too much money has been expended unwisely and that town spending needs to be reigned in.
